Toddler Room 15 months – 2½ yrs

Educators in this room are well prepared for your little people in this stage of their development with movement now at the top of their to-do list, your toddler will be refining both their fine motor (scribbling, threading, holding and carrying) and gross motor (running, jumping and climbing) skills as they experiment with, explore and develop their new abilities.

Thoughtful educators promote learning by creating environments that are flexible and open ended to encourage curiosity and invite children to experiment, role play, discuss and learn. Importance is placed on settings that promote small group interactions to allow children to become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing.  Using songs, stories, rhyme and repetition, early literacy and numeracy ideas are intentionally inter-woven within daily routines and transitions to stimulate everyday concepts such as counting, colours, shapes, text and language, encouraging children to become effective communicators.
